Slantooth
Biography
Slantooth is a veteran West Coast Drum & Bass DJ, producer, and co owner of historic Compound Records LTD. His obsession with the genre ignited in 1996 upon hearing a Metalheadz promo tape. This spark quickly turned into a lifelong dedication to underground electronic music culture. He soon became a staple of the Pacific Northwest scene and, worked as a buyer at the legendary Concepts Records and eventually took over the operations of Compound Records. Today, Slantooth runs the brand along side his good friend and partner Jof Cole as a prominent independent record label and distribution platform, championing raw jungle and D&B through vinyl and digital releases. As a selector, Slantooth helped build the foundation of Seattle’s nightlife and served as an original resident DJ for the seminal “Drum & Bass Tuesdays” at The Baltic Room and “Rush Hour” at The War Room. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with industry royalty, including Goldie, Ed Rush & Optical, Jumping Jack Frost, and Dillinja.Behind the boards, Slantooth channels his years of dancefloor experience into heavy, technical productions. His original tracks and remixes have been released via underground outlets such as Tech Support Recordings and Division Bass Digital. He remains a driving force in the North American D&B movement.
